The old 16th century timbered building housing the show-room of Tranekaer Antiques previously served as a laundry driven by its own twit mill and later on as a local museum and as administrative offices for the 11th century Tranekaer Castle - which for nearly 450 years up until 1663 once belonged to the Royal family of Denmark. Today the old twit mill is an exciting danish antique shop with a wide range of danish antique furniture, Swedish antiques, Danish antiques, rustic style items, French antiques, French country style and fil de fer/fildefer items - we are danish antique dealers specializing in French antiques and in the original French country style.
